Mercy....What is that?

2.the disposition to be compassionate or forbearing:

3.the discretionary power of a judge to pardon someone or to mitigate punishment, especially to send to prison rather than invoke the death penalty.
4.an act of kindness, compassion, or favor:
She has performed countless small mercies for her friends and neighbors.
5.something that gives evidence of divine favor; blessing:
It was just a mercy we had our seat belts on when it happened.

Mercy, why is this so hard for some people?  I am not sure that I show enough mercy to people that I should.  I can be compasionate, and kind, but there are so many people out there that don't even know what the word means!  I guess it's like forgiveness, so many people have a hard time forgiving.  They must also have a hard time showing mercy to others.  It's kind of funny that we EXPECT mercy and forgiveness from our Creator but we just can't do that for our neighbor!?!  Maybe what needs to happen is more people need to pray and remember that what we expect from God we should be extending to others.  Would just a little bit of kindness hurt anyone?  Maybe we should count our blessings....instead of counting others sins.
